Is there anything better than watching surfing pelicans? We are obsessed with the way that pelicans glide a few feet above the ocean. Especially when they fly close to shore and between waves. It looks more like surfing than flying. Our favorite part is the moment before a wave breaks, and a chorus line of pelicans makes a lazy looping arc back to the next wave in the set.

They make it look easy. The work appears effortless. Pelicans see a challenge ahead, and they just surf with it.
